I'm a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and my faith is very important to me. I believe that God is unchanging, all knowing, and full of love.  And He wants us to be happy.

That is why He sent us to this earth - to experience joy.  Joy.  Think about that.  We are here to learn and grow and love and relish every moment of life.  Now I know we've all had our own bumps and bruises down the road of life, but they are a part of the plan too.  As we go through those experiences we find greater joy in the insight and blessing that just living life brings.

See I think that this life is so well crafted that regardless of who you are or what you believe, you are going to grow closer to Christ.  When I take a look at the experienced in life, it occurs to me that there are two types of elderly people - saintlike and crabby.  By the time they reach that age, they have decades of experiences behind them.  And the accumulation of all those choices - whether for righteousness and joy or for selfishness and shame - show clearly in their faces.  Now gratefully most of the people I meet who are older than me fill me with such hope that I too can be that wise, kind, and good someday.  I get excited to think that I too can be that happy.

But what if we could have that now?  Right now.  You see happiness comes from following the Lord.  The experienced in life know that - even if they can't always put it down into words.  The trick is to know what to do.

The Lord cares about every single one of us.  More than we could ever imagine.  We can draw close to Him through prayer, following His counsel, and reading His word.  This is what brings joy into my life.  I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I know that this church is true.

Know.  That may seem powerful to you.  That's because it is.  I have read the Book of Mormon, prayed about it, and received an answer for myself that it is indeed the word of God along with the Bible.  I have tried to live my life in accordance with God's will and I can see clearly that when I do, my life is wonderful.  And whenever I hit those bumps of life I feel the cleansing power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ as I work to get my life back on track.  It's miraculous.  It's beautiful.  It's joyous.
